Much has happened in “Woh Pagal Si” since the last review, some good, some bad and some downright ridiculous. One thing that has remained constant however is the audience interest in the Zaheen and Sara pairing, which has not only brought viewers back each day, but has also increased Saad Qureshi and Hira Khan’s popularity of late. Starring Babar Ali, Zubab Rana, Omer Shahzad, Saad Qureshi and Hira Khan in central roles, the story has been written by Sadia Akhter and directed by Faisal Bukhari.
With episode 43, Sara (Hira Khan) has come back home with Ahsan (Babar Ali), however Zaheen (Saad Qureshi) isn’t willing to give up on his marriage that easily. He meets with Ahsan and while Ahsan is unnecessarily aggressive and rude to him, Zaheen implores him to find out what Sara really wants and allow her to come back to him. Zaheen makes a great point while speaking to Ahsan as he points out how Ahsan threw Sara out into the streets, not caring for her well-being or safety for over two months. How then can he suddenly reinforce his claim on his daughter without thinking about those who cared for her over the past two months? It’s interesting how Ahsan thinks the solution to this entire situation is to pick his daughter up, bring her back home to the house where Shazma (Zubab Rana) continues to reside now also with her mother and things will suddenly be great? It’s as though he’s completely obtuse to what the problems were to begin with.
Shazma and Wahaj (Omer Shahzad) on the other hand are wary of Sara’s return now, considering they’ve been embezzling money from Ahsan all along and were prepared to abandon him. However, the games continue when Wahaj begins blackmailing Sara, threatening to expose her involvement with Ahsan’s competitors. It does not seem as though the drama will let up any time soon nor does it appear to be coming to a quick conclusion. But with Bela’s arrival back on the scene, will Bela and Sara team up to expose Shazma and Wahaj?
Honestly, the rivalry between Sara and Shazma used to be the highlight of “Woh Pagal Si,” but Sara has lost that spark and that “pagalpan” which made her so unique. It’s nice in a way, because it creates a softness between Sara and Zaheen that was not necessarily there before. She has become a more kind individual while she was not particularly deserving of his love earlier. And yet, that spark between Shazma and Sara is missing now with their constant fighting and attempting to one-up the other with their schemes.
At this point in the story, it’s Saad Qureshi and Hira Khan who are the stars of the show with every other plotline simply revolving around them. There’s still a lot of story to explore in “Woh Pagal Si,” but not in terms of the love story. If Sara and Zaheen reunite quickly and join together to expose Shazma and Wahaj for the bulk of the remaining episodes, that would be ideal. Otherwise if the love story continues to be a “will they, won’t they?” sort of situation, this narrative will definitely start to feel unnecessarily dragged out in coming episodes.
