Since the day, The legend Of Maulah Jatt was released in Pakistan, it has managed to break records left right, and center. Despite the initial deadlock between producers n distributors and almost zilch promotional activities, the Fawad Khan and Hamza Abbasi starrer is performing amazingly well at the box office. The film performed supremely well in local as well International cinemas. The number of shows had to be increased in International cinemas due to high demand globally.
News has it that The Legend Of Maulah Jatt has entered the 150 crore club and enjoying a roaring success at the box office. The announcement was made on the film’s official Twitter account. “Taking the worldwide box office by storm, The Legend of Maula Jatt sets a new record for the Pakistani cinema with 150 Crore!” a tweet read. Lashari took to social media, expressing gratitude for the outpour of love and support. “You did it!” he wrote.
Within a short span of 17 days, The Legend Of Maulah has managed to dethrone big-budgeted Bollywood movies like RRR. The movie was almost inching closer to beating Ayan Mukharjee directorial Brahmastra and later Bilal Lashari’s movie surpassed Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Batt starrer. Before this, Maula Jatt also surpassed Ajay Devgn’s Thank God and Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu, two recently released Bollywood films at the global box office. In short, there is no stopping to The Legend Of Maulah Jatt.
In one of the interviews, the director of the movie Bilal Lashari said ““Every film itself is a risk no matter how big or small the budget is,” he said. “For me, making TLoMJ was a lifetime experience as I challenged my comfort zone of filmmaking.” the 38-year-old director shared on his Instagram story ahead of the star-studded premiere of his reinvention of the 1979 classic. “Today, you are real, no more a figment of my imagination or a project of a dreamer. What a journey it has been!” Lashari concluded, “Tonight, it’s finally time for me to let you go. And you have to let me go to go dream again an untold story of another realm.”
The Legend Of Maulah Jatt is a reboot of Yunus Malik’s cult classic Punjabi movie Maulah Jatt, which is about the rivalry between Mauah Jatt and Noori Natt originally played by Mustafa Qureshi and Sultan Rahi.
