If you aren’t familiar with Nida Yasir’s morning show, then you should know that the host and her show often make headlines; for all the wrong reasons. After a recent episode of her show aired on television, the show was heavily criticised. Nida Yasir had invited the family of a young girl who was kidnapped and raped before being murdered and torched on the show. According to the autopsy report, the victim had been sexually assaulted and had died from head injuries.
Nida Yasir’s aim was to get the case the attention it deserves and believed it could give rise to a possibility of any eye-witnesses coming forward. On the show Nida Yasir questioned Marwah’s father and grandparents and the questions ranged from details of the incident to the help they have or haven’t been receiving from authorities. During the show, the grandparents, together with Nida Yasir broke down and cried on multiple occasions as the topic was discussed.
Marwah’s abduction and rape is among the many tragic incidents which take place in the country on a daily basis. The ongoing rape and sexual harassment epidemic has been ongoing in the country, with a number of citizens taking to the streets to protest against these harrowing incidents. Following the airing of Nida Yasir’s episode from her morning show, netizens were enraged and took to Twitter to call for the ban of her show. #BanNidaYasir immediately started to trend with many asserting that the host called Marwah’s family on the show for ratings and publicity. Here’s what some people had to say:
All the morning shows and game shows should be banned. These are just to make fun of poor people and spread vulgarity…#BanNidaYasirShow#Banmorningshows#Bannidayasir pic.twitter.com/gix9cSdrK8

Damn Nada Yasir!
what a shameful way of asking a pathetic question to get high ratings for your morning show. … The mother of the girl busted into tears after hearing the questions. #BanNidaYasir https://t.co/fla70GlAMN— Samia Arshid (@khantareen1) September 17, 2020
Following the severe backlash and anger, Nida Yasir penned an apology in which she stated that since the show, the suspect in the case has been caught thanks to the show. While Nida Yasir has apologised, one person in particular sought to expose Nida Yasir and her lies. Waqar Zaka is one individual who is not falling for any of it. Waqar Zaka has decided to expose Nida Yasir and decided to share the alleged real story behind the insensitive show.
Waqar Zaqa shared a vlog in which an activist speaks to the victim’s father and reveals the truth about the morning show. Upon asking if he contacted the channel or Nida Yasir, the father refuses and says that they approached them. In fact, when the victim’s uncle was contacted, he said that he didn’t even know anyone in the media and that they were contacted as soon as Marwah’s body was found.

Waqar Zaka said that he caught another lie told by Nida Yasir in which she claimed that the First Information Report (FIR) was registered only after the show. However, in the vlog posted by Zaka, Marwah’s uncle claims the FIR was registered the same day she went missing. While Nida Yasir has refuted claims that she did the show for ratings and publicity, Zaka highlights the fact that the ads between her show earned her a lot of money.
Waqar Zaka went on to question why the channel has not yet replaced her questioning, “What is media most afraid of? Zaka placed much emphasis on the fact that Good Morning Pakistan has always been the centre of controversy and he believes that even bad publicity for Nida Yasir is still publicity.
