While wedding season may be a long way away, every girl can dream. And while we’re still stuck in the midst of a global pandemic, who knows when wedding season will even return to normalcy. The bhangra, the music, the gatherings, the mehndi lagais, the extravagant outfits and all the festivities that come along with it; we miss it all so much. We’ve looked (about 100 times) through our archives of wedding pictures, our bff’s wedding, the Deepveer wedding, when Priyanka Chopra wed Nick Jonas and we really can’t wait till we can celebrate weddings once again.
And while we wait for the world to get back to normal (soon fingers crossed), we thought we could look forward to wedding season and rounded up some statement pieces every girl should have in her wardrobe to leave heads turning one season after the next. Take notes!
A pair of statement polki chandbalis
Whether you’re heading to an engagement dinner or a wedding reception, the perfect pair of polki and pearl chandbalis will elevate your look instantly. Polki is oh so versatile and can be styled in a variety of different ways. They can be dressed up with a heavier neck piece and makeup or dressed down with a plain outfit, sans any other jewellery. Polki is also a neutral hue which can be worn with silver and gold and is not restricted to one particular colour. A pair of statement earrings will take you a long way each wedding season and without anything can be your stand alone piece to add that glam factor to your wedding attire.
A pair of trusted khussas
Yes we all love a gorgeous pair of heels, but have you ever tried attending a wedding in a pair of khussas? While they might not be the best option for those on the shorter side who want some height but if you’re a tall girl, then ditch the heels and go for the khussas. Recall the last time you attended a wedding in a pair of killer heels and the misery you were in. Walking around, meeting friends and social acquaintances in heels gets tiring all too soon. But had you been in khussas, it would be oh so easy breezy. So for whenever the next wedding season may be, ditch the glitzy heels and opt for a comfy pair of encrusted khussas.
The beaded potli
Of course you’ll need a pretty little bag to put you lippy and keys in. And there’s no wedding attire that is complete without a little beaded potli. While you don’t want to stuff it with too many things, a pretty little potli is the perfect size for your lipstick, keys, some cash and your trusty mouth strips. There’s a whole variety available out there and while you may be tempted to have one in every colour, our advice would be to opt for a colour that will go with most of your wedding wardrobe; perhaps gold or silver. That way, you can use it all season long and really get your money’s worth!
Who can’t wait for wedding season?
