As Dubai opened to tourists on 7th July, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum visited Dubai International Airport to review the safety measures. During his visit, he took a tour of the airport terminals and also looked at the operational procedures put in place, along with senior officials.
Appreciating the efforts of the various teams in resuming tourism activities, Sheikh Hamdan said, “I have reviewed the procedures and protocols in place to welcome tourists back to Dubai. What we have seen clearly demonstrates Dubai comprehensive preparedness to welcome the world once again and resume international tourism. We have implemented the highest international safety standards to ensure the wellbeing of travellers and tourists.”
He further said, “Today, we are sending a message of hope to the world and beginning a fresh drive to create new success stories inspired by the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai.”

He said that DXB Airport had ranked “as the world’s busiest hub for international passenger traffic” and with the teams’ “outstanding efforts”, Dubai would continue to occupy the top spot in global travel and tourism.
Dubai International Airport has implemented several measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers flying through the airport and to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
The World Travel and Tourism Council has given Dubai its Safe Travels Stamp, as the emirate has met the global health and hygiene protocols, and implemented strong and effective health and safety measures. President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed said this was the result of “the combined efforts of the UAE’s leadership, government and tourism sector stakeholders as well as Dubai Airport, Emirates and FlyDubai.”
