Let’s Try Mohabbat Episode 4: This Romance Stresses The Importance Of Family Bonding

When “Let’s Try Mohabbat” initially began, the storyline appeared a bit flat for an engaging story.  A young couple manipulate their way towards marriage as the hero’s father does not agree with love marriage did not seem like the best set up for a strong show.  Yet, as the show has unfolded over the past two weeks, the narrative has also taken a lovable turn.  “Let’s Try Mohabbat” stars Mawra Hocane and Daniyal Zafar in lead roles, along with Gohar Rasheed, Nausheen Shah, Shahzad Nawaz, Tazeen Hussain, Aly Khan and Angeline Malik in a story written by Zeeshan Junaid and directed by Angeline Malik.

In episode 4, Fiza (Mawra Hocane) is slowly learning to understand her new family and their dynamics.  While Sikandar Sher Ali (Shahzad Nawaz) is a rigid father towards Azlan (Gohar Rasheed), he is equally as soft a father-in-law to the new member of his family.  His relationship with Fiza is immediately open and warm, which is in stark contrast to his relationship with his sons.  Even his dynamic with Samiya (Tazeen Hussain) is interesting – he isn’t downright mean and does seem to love Samiya, but his nature is not loving.  Shahzad Nawaz and Tazeen Hussain make a nice couple and they share sweet chemistry, though it’s odd to see them playing parents to actors nearly their age.

Fiza also manages to break through Azlan’s rough exterior and has him opening up about Shehnaz within minutes.  All Azlan has ever needed was a willing  ear – and now he finally has it.  Will Fiza be the change this family needs?  What will happen when Sikandar realizes he has been deceived and Zohan (Daniyal Zafar) and Fiza’s marriage is not arranged after all?

The entire cast is doing a great job and it’s nice to see these dedicated actors in a more light-hearted, short series.  If we are to discuss weak points, the number one complaint would be the over-use of the OST.  The theme song of the show is played at any possible moment and over long, dragged out romantic moments which are meant to be endearing, but are really just unwelcome and space fillers.  Otherwise, “Let’s Try Mohabbat” is thoroughly enjoyable.  With only two episodes left, we have to wonder how this story is going to wind up so quickly?  Will Azlan find love again?  Will Sikandar change?  And will Fiza and Zohan be able to live their lives with their truth?  “Let’s Try Mohabbat” isn’t brilliant writing, but it’s a sweet, breezy watch with a strong emphasis on family dynamics, which is always a recipe for television success!
