A few days ago, singer Cardi B announced her divorce from husband and rapper, Offset. The rapper, whose real name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, filed a divorce petition in Fulton County, Georgia, last week in which she requested for an end to her marriage to the Migos rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus.
The couple had tied the knot secretly in September 2017, before Offset publicly proposed a month later by offering Cardi B a solid rock while they were onstage during a concert in Philadelphia. According to the petition, Cardi B wants legal and primary physical custody of the couple’s 2-year-old daughter, Kulture. She is also seeking an equitable division of their marital assets as well as for Offset to pay both child support and all of her legal fees which will arise from the divorce.
And now, the singer has finally opened up about the reason behind her divorce. Ever since the divorce announcement was made, rumours began circulating, many of which related to infidelity. Cardi B, however, took to her social media to clarify that the reason had in fact nothing to do with infidelity.
“The reason for my divorce is not from none of that s*** from ever before. It’s not from cheating,” she explained. “I got tired of f****** arguing. I got tired of not seeing things eye-to-eye. When you feel like things aren’t the same anymore, before you actually get cheated on, I’d rather just leave,” she shared on her Instagram.
Further Card B clarified that the couple had just drifted apart. “Nothing crazy out of this world happened, sometimes people really do grow apart. I’ve been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man, I have a household with this man,” Cardi B said. “Sometimes you’re just tired of the arguments and the buildups. You get tired sometimes. And before something bad happens, before you get left or cheated on, sometimes you just want to leave. What is so bad about that?” she went on to question.

Speaking on the number of reports that have been circulating pertaining to her divorce being linked to her new album she said, “I don’t need drama to sell music. I just want to be a free bird, okay? Stop. Stop with the s***. B****, I am the clout. I’ve got the number-one song right now. Why would I need anything to sell my next record or next album?”
