Tumharey Husn Ke Naam Episode 24: Will Salma and Sikandar Get Their Happily Ever After?

There are love stories and then there are love stories for the ages, love stories which we read about or watch which leave an ever-lasting impact on both the hearts of the characters and the audience as well.  “Tumharey Husn Ke Naam” has been delivering the beautiful love story between Salma and Sikandar, played by Saba Qamar and Imran Abbas.  This is a love story of purity, innocence and poetry which resulted in heartbreak, Salma and Sikandar pushed into unhappy marriages.  And yet, the story does not end here, allowing our leads to grow both professionally and emotionally over time and, once again, reconnecting.  Along with Saba Qamar and Imran Abbas, “Tumharey Husn Ke Naam” stars Salman Shahid, Sidra Niazi, Haris Waheed, Maha Hassan, Asad Siddiqui and others in a story written by Sarah Qayyum and directed by Saqib Khan.

In episode 24, Salma and Sikandar are now happily planning their wedding.  In the meantime, Umer (Haaris Waheed) has returned home to attend his father’s wedding while Sarah (Maha Hasan) is happily participating in wedding preparations.  This episode is absolutely beautiful, not only in emotions, but also in visual presentation – which can be said of the show as a whole.  Everything from the backdrop, the outdoor shots, the framework is pleasing to the eyes.

Post-leap, there’s a lot to appreciate.  Of course, it’s wonderful to see Sikandar and Salma together once again, reliving their love for one another and planning on, finally, living their own lives the way they’ve always wanted to.  Now planning their own wedding, they’ve thrown caution to the wind and no longer care what others think.  The love story aside, the other beautiful aspect to this show is the way the parent-child relationship has been shown.  Umer has finally come around, mentally processing that his memories may not represent reality and choosing to be there for his father.

This is a complicated relationship, as Sikandar spent his entire life working to satisfy his wife’s wishes and demands – therefore, leaving him out of having a strong bond with his son.  Umer felt a connection to his mother throughout his life, not sensing that she was also negatively impacting his mind against his father.  These are the choices parents make that affect children and the exact reason why parents, regardless of their personal relationships, should avoid dragging children into their problems.  On the other end, Sarah has been supporting her mother throughout.  Sarah ran away from her wedding to Umer due to her own fear and compatibility issues, but honestly?  It’s more likely that Sarah overheard Salma and Sikandar and is choosing to honor the woman who raised her by choosing her mother’s happiness over her own.  And that is absolutely beautiful.  Parents spend their entire lives sacrificing for their children – can’t children sacrifice their happiness for their parents?

Imran Abbas and Saba Qamar are at their dignified best.  Their characters are both so genuine at heart and yet, we can see the trauma from their past come out in how they behave.  Mature love stories like these are just what our best actors need – and yet, they are far too few.  Watching Salma and Sikandar has been nothing short of watching poetry in motion.  Unfortunately, will Sarah’s decision to meet with his father and put both her mother’s and her own relationship with him to rest ultimately cause more grief for the family?  Even worse, will “Tumharey Husn Ke Naam,” after all this sadness and loss, still wind up being a tragedy for Salma and Sikandar?
