Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar: Memes flood the internet as she denies dating him

From turning showstoppers on the ramp to starring in photoshoots together, the actor-singer duo of Hania Aamir and Asim Azhar has grabbed eyeballs from time to time, on different occasions. While the gossip mill surrounding their “budding romance” has been abuzz for some time now, Aamir has finally rubbished the rumours. In a recent live chat with her bestie and singer Aima Baig, Aamir revealed that she and singer Asim Azhar are not in a relationship. A snippet released from their chat showed Amir responding to a question by a user who was curious to know whether she and Azhar are dating.

“He’s asking if we’re still together. We’re friends, we’re not together, we’re not dating, we’re not a couple. But we are best friends,” clarified Amir, leaving Baig in a state of shock too. “Ye tou mujhe bhi nahi pata tha (I did not know about this either),” quipped the Malang singer. “No no, actually, we’re great friends. We’re there for each other and I even played a part in his video,” justified Amir. Weighing in on some future projects they may be doing together, Amir noted, “I’m going to make Asim help me with a song. But as far as relationships and ‘Are you together?’ is concerned, I’m not with anyone.” The conversation ended with Baig cracking a joke about work being Amir’s current boyfriend.

The internet could not keep its calm and started off with a close-up picture of Baig with her eyes popping out and looking rather surprised. It was captioned, “Aima Baig’s reaction when Hania said we are just friends!” This meme led to a hundred others and social media is now flooded with all kind of stuff.

Most users were left disappointed and refused to believe that Aamir and Azhar are not a “thing”! And of course, this led to the resurgence of memes and lots of trolling on Twitter. One user posting a picture of a distraught Tom, from Tom and Jerry. He captioned it, “Asim Azhar after listening we are just friends.”

Following suit, another fan uploaded an image of a frog holding a gun towards his mouth and compared it to what he thought Azhar’s reaction would have been after finding out that he has been friend-zoned by Aamir. He wrote, “When Hania Aamir said we are just best friends.” Taking a dig at Azhar’s song Tum Tum, one user posted a picture of the alleged couple from an award ceremony and wrote, “Guess What? #TumTum backfired and now #AsimAzhar is friend-zoned. Poor Kiddo! A moment of silence for our brother, the fallen soldier.”

The funniest of them all has to be when one user posted a collage from Amir and Azhar’s ramp walk at a fashion week, when the latter sang a song for her. Turning it into a meme, the user captioned it, “Asim Azhar: We look like a couple. Hania Aamir: Yes, a couple of besties!” And it did not end here. Below the belt trolling also popped up! A comment by Shamoon Ali read, “#AsimAzhar Raton ko 2 bjay jb girlfriend k leye easyload karwao aur khana b deliver karo but in the END!!!, evidently taking a jibe at Azhar and Amir’s personal life and everything they have done for each other. IT DOESN’T GET BETTER FROM HERE! Call it creativity or complete idiocy, Twitter users have really had a field day! The same picture of Amir presenting Azhar with an award was made into another meme, which was captioned, “Asim Azhar: I can’t wait to write our breakup song.”
