“Aakhir Kab Tak” continues to earn praise from Pakistani drama viewers. This is a show that follows the lives of two sisters dealing with an oppressive home environment – but in different ways. While Fajar is a sexual assault victim and deals with the emotional trauma of it, Noor fights her family’s regressive values to move forward in life. Starring Ushna Shah, Srha Asghar, Javerai Abbasi, Haroon Shahid, Adeel Hussain, Azfar Rehman, Shahood Alvi, Gul e Rana and others, the story has been written by Radain Shah and directed by Syed Ali Raza Usama.
Episode 10 focuses on the relationship between Saim (Haroon Shahid) and Fajar (Srha Asghar). The two are married, but are living like strangers in one room. It’s nice then to see how Saim’s friend counsels Saim and tells him to work on his marriage. Taking it one step further, when his friend’s wife meets Fajar one-on-one, she immediately notices that Fajar isn’t in the correct frame of mind. She confides in her husband and states that Fajar needs to see a psychiatrist. What’s great is that neither husband or wife judge Fajar harshly, rather they recognize that if something is wrong, it’s Saim’s responsibility to get to the bottom of it and get Fajar the help she needs. Even better is that Saim, despite finding himself in a marriage unlike anything he ever expected, remains the supportive, dutiful partner and wants the best for his new wife – a woman who he technically barely even knows. There are some wonderful moments in this episode, from Fajar being seen by a (kind) psychiatrist to Fajar and Saim finally getting to know each other at the end. Simple things like favorite cuisine are questions Fajar has never thought about – because she has never been asked or given options in her home environment. With Saim, she is now realizing that there’s a world outside of the restrictive one she grew up in.
Noor (Ushna Shah) continues to be relegated to the background for now, playing more of a supporting role for her sister – though we know she will gain traction in upcoming episodes. Noor is ready to take over her father’s business and be the son her father always wished he had. Despite Noor’s good intentions, neither her father nor her mother will ever support her decisions, which means she has a struggle ahead of her.
Here Is Why A Day Trip To KhorFakkan,Sharjah Should Be On Your Go-To List ASAP
Srha Asghar and Ushna Shah, along with Haroon Shahid, are doing a great job in their roles. These are characters the viewer feels for and roots for. Now with Fajar’s in-laws believing that she’s expecting, what turn will Fajar’s life take? Will her relationship with her in-laws be another problem in her life? We will have to wait and see, but “Aakhir Kab Tak” is a show that is interesting each week and keeps the audience coming back for more – while still telling a realistic story.
